Offerton Moor

After some debate about a walk along Derwent Edge, I suggested that we do a walk of around 7.5 miles from Hathersage. The walk took us out of the town to the south, to Leadmill Bridge, across the fields to Callow Farm and Highlow Hall and along the road to Oaks Farm. From there we climbed up onto the open moor of Offerton Moor.

The path continued to climb steadily around to Shatton Edge and then we joined Shatton Lane, which we followed back down past the BBC mast and back into the fields. This spat us out on the road between Offerton Hall and Offerton House and we then went back into the fields down to the River Derwent. This we crossed on a series of large stone blocks before heading across the fields and back to Hathersage.
